Meet Our Pastor
A Personal Message from Lewis
"Hello! I have the privilege of being the Pastor at SPFC. It's a privilege because the church are a great bunch of people, Stoke Poges is a great village to live in, and the good news about Jesus is a great thing to share! My heart's desire is that people might have the opportunity to hear the good news of what God has done, and promised to do, through Jesus, and then grow in their understanding of what that means for their lives. I'd love to meet you in person if I haven't already, so please do get in touch!" - More info
About the role
Leaders of the first Christian churches were called 'elders' or 'overseers' and their job was to oversee and care for the church as a Shepherd cares for his flock. The word 'Pastor' comes from the word 'Shepherd'. By formally and informally preaching and teaching the message of the Bible, the job of a Pastor (sometimes known as 'Minister' or, in Anglican churches, 'Vicar') is, above all, to help the people of the church grow and flourish in their faith, becoming more like Jesus.
Meet Our Elders
Meet our Members
In recognition of the fact that all members of Christ's church have a direct relationship with God, churches like ours make decisions and seek God as a community. Though there are particular roles within the church, such as that of the Pastor and elders, all Christians have a crucial role to play. We're all part of 'the team'!
